Prof. James W. Wilson's personal statement - candidate of Board of Director- from an academic institution, or at large for CI specialty group
James received his PhD in geography from the Univeristy of Maryland in 2005, and is an assistant professor of Geographic Sceince in the department of Integrated Science and Technology at James Madison University. He previously served as the geospatial application integration manager for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and was appointed in 2007 by the Governor of Virginia to a 5-year term as the state-university representative on the Virginia Geographic INformation Network Advisory Board. James developed and has taught since 2003 a course on distributed geospatial systems.
