Call for Papers:

AAG 2010 Organized Session: Service Oriented Computing and Architecture

Web services technology and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) provide the mechanism to share data, methods, and tools as Internet-based components published using standard interface and description languages, and are universally available via interoperable communication protocols. In the GIScience community, this becomes particularly important and difficult due to the nature that GIS data are large and usually heterogeneous in conceptual model, format, reference system, database and the hosting computing environments.

This session seeks submissions in various aspects of geospatial Web services. All topics relevant to geospatial Web services are of interest including but not limited to:

*Models, methodologies, and tools (including analysis, design, SOA, modeling, and composition) *Publish, discovery, and selection (including in mobile settings)

*Management and governance (including monitoring, QoS, privacy, trust)

*Web 2.0 and Web X.0 concepts in Web services settings (including software as a service and service as software)

*Workflow and Business process management (including business protocols, business intelligence, service level agreements, and business licensing models)

*Formal methods (including modeling and specification, data and process semantics, type systems, security, QoS, and other properties) *Standards, implementation, and deployment technologies

*Technologies for building and operating massive datasets (including middleware)

*Integration of REST and SOAP services, such as spatial analysis services that integrate one WFS service offered by USGS and another WFS service offered by EPA.

To present a paper in the session:
1. Register and submit your abstract online (http://www.aag.org/annualmeetings/).
2. Email your presenter identification number (PIN), paper title, and abstract to hwu8@gmu.edu by October 26, 2009
